Freddy joined ABNR as a senior associate in July 2007 and was made Partner on 1 January 2012. He read law at the University of Indonesia (1998) and earned an LL.M in International Tax from Leiden University (2002). He also graduated cum laude in 1997 from the Faculty of Economics of Trisakti University in Jakarta, holds an MBA degree from Peking University (2015), and is a chartered accountant. He has participated in various training courses and seminars in Indonesia and abroad. Prior to joining ABNR, he worked for a number of years in other prominent law firms in Jakarta. In 2010, he was seconded to a leading Dutch law and tax firm. His specialisms are power projects, fintech (including P2P), capital markets, M&A, investment, insolvency, corporate and debt restructurings, litigation, property, natural resources, banking and project finance. He has represented international financial institutions, banks, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), private equity, venture capital, P2P and fintech, mining, and publicly listed companies.
Freddy is a member of the editorial board of The Derivatives and Financial Instrument Journal, and of the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation, Netherlands. He also contributes articles to the International Financial Law Review (IFLR), ICLG, and Getting The Deal Through, and has spoken at IBA and IPBA events, and various forums organized by IFLR. His legal expertise has been recognized by IFLR1000, Asialaw Profiles and The Asia Pacific Legal 500.
